For the Christmas surprise, the sound curves of the engine sounds of BMW innovations such as the BMW 2 Series Coupé or the BMW M4 were recorded in the sound studio and then rotated by 90 degrees.
The microsite allowed users to create their own trees with the help of a virtual accelerator pedal and then share them with family and friends via social media.
As a great side effect, the Soundtrees gave BMW a truly sustainable and brand-appropriate Christmas decoration for the showrooms: Thanks to rapid prototyping, the trees could be 3D printed and set up. BMW VIP customers also received a special gift: the three-dimensional image of the engine sound of their own BMW model - the Mini Soundtree.
